Guide to HEPA VS. ULPA
Understand when and why to choose HEPA or ULPA.
HEPA filters (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) are not all manufactured to the same high standard. The filter systems we offer, remove 99.99% of particles down to 0.3 micrometers in diameter from the air that passes through the filter. This exceeds ASME and DOE standards, which require 99.97%.
You may be aware that there's a filter that removes even smaller particles, called the ULPA (Ultra-Low Particulate Air) filter. The ULPA standard requires removal of 99.9995% of particles down to 1.2 micrometers. That sounds much more effective than HEPA.
